Your Monday root word of the week is: viv/i vit, which means live, life. This Latin root appears in many English words such as: revival - the act of bringing back to life; vital - pertaining to live; vivacious - high-spirited and full of life.

Wednesday Wellness Wish - That was Glen Miller and “In the Mood” to put you in the mood to watch the Sock n Buskin performance of Brighton Beach Memoirs this weekend.  This song is also connected to your Wednesday Wellness Wish of the week.  It is important for your overall development as a young adult to try out different forms of art and entertainment.  I would seriously recommend attending the fall play this weekend if you have never seen a play in your lifetime.  You may really enjoy the experience and it could have a really positive impact on your life.  It is very important for all of us to support each other in attending the multitude of activities that we participate in.  So whether you make time to watch the fall play, attend one of the upcoming winter concerts, or check out an exciting winter season sporting event, I can guarantee that you will be better off for doing so.  Additionally, the participants will feel even greater satisfaction knowing that all of their hard work and dedication is being appreciated by a larger audience.  Remember, together we can fly.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. –Helen Keller

MONDAY MINDFUL MOMENT: That was the great Randy Newman with “You’ve got a friend in me.”  This is the message of your Monday Mindful Moment of the week.  Mindfulness fosters compassion and kindness. Research suggests mindfulness training makes us more likely to help someone in need and increases activity in our brain that is involved in understanding the suffering of others and regulating emotions. So as we continue to be mindful, focus on living in the present and avoid being overwhelmed by what’s going on around us, let’s remember to be a friend to others. It could make all the difference.  Remember, you’ve got a friend in me.

BRAINTEASER: See if you can come up with an equation that uses exactly two threes (3) and two eights (8) to get the number 24. You can use multiplication (×), division (÷), addition (+), subtraction (-) negative signs, and parentheses. You can not use any advanced arithmetic operations, such as exponents, factorial, etc. Email your answers to Mr. Rothstein at
