Your Monday root word of the week is: junct which means: join.  This Latin root appears in many English words such as: conjunction - a word that joins parts of sentences; disjunction - a disconnection; and junction - a place where two things join.

Quote of the Week: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” ― Bernard M. Baruch

Brainteaser: There is a certain family with both girl and boy children. Each of the boys has the same number of brothers as he has sisters. Each of the girls has twice as many brothers as she has sisters. How many boys and girls are there in this family?

Monday Mindful Moment: That was Vance Joy and “Mess is Mine.”  This is the theme of your Mindful Moment of the week.  It is important for us to be mindful of our present state of mind and understand how valuable it can be to get help from those around us.  As the school year winds down and opportunities for increased stress and pressure grow, be sure to honor your current feelings and reach out to family, friends and staff members if there is anything you need – big or small.   As the lyrics go, “You’re the reason that I feel so strong.”  Let’s acknowledge the power of collective support and really focus on how we can help each other.  There is no need to keep whatever mess you have to yourself.  We can start to help to clean it up together.

Wednesday Wellness Wish - That was Bruno Mars and “Count on Me.”  This is the theme of your Wednesday Wellness Wish of the week.  With only 8 school days left until Finals and Regents exams, it is more important than even that you finish off the school year strong.  If you need help in your classes, you can count on your teachers to help you get prepared.  If you need help with any problem that you’re going through, you can count on the counselors, administration and staff to sit with you and problem solve together.  Additionally, make sure to really count on your friends and family when you need support.  There is nothing heroic in trying to push through issues by yourself.  Be sure to reach out to find people whom you can count on.  We will always be here for you.
